Storyboard - (26/11/15)
Shooting Script - (27/11/15)
Above are the images of my groups storyboard, drawn entirely by Josh Calver after we had finalised what we wanted to include in our music video as a group. In comparison to the storyboard we produced at AS this one is much more detailed in terms of the drawings as well as the number of shots included in it. This is because unlike our Thriller opening which only lasted two minutes, the song we have chosen to produce a music video for lasts for over three minutes and therefore requires more frames in order for us to be able to follow it whilst filming. This will decrease any uncertainty we may of had whilst shooting as we will be able to refer back to the detailed images Josh has drawn in order to ensure that the shots look how we want them too. In my opinion the storyboard we have produced is of a high quality as even though it is just still images, the audience can still recognise that it is for the pop genre which therefore suggests that our final product will produce the same effect.
The image above is of my groups shooting script that will run alongside our storyboard. Rob Atkinson produced the shooting script on Microsoft Excel with the collaboration and input of both myself and Josh Calver. The reason for producing a shooting script is so that the images on the storyboard are briefly explained including the type of camerawork used, which is very beneficial during the production of our video as when we refer back to it we will know exactly what is meant to be happening in each shot. It also ensures that we shoot each shot for the correct period of time as if its too short we would have to film it again which would be impractical and inconvenient, especially if it means that we have to arrange another day of shooting. The shooting script will also be useful when I come to editing the video as I will know exactly what transition I am using before/after each shot, as well as again ensuring that I get the timings of each shot correct. Finally the combination of the shooting script and the storyboard will be imperative in the creation of our animatic which will be produced in order to check whether the frames/timings we have stated in both products will work correctly and suit the upbeat tempo of the song.
