Final Photo's

Above is both the video/photo evidence from our photoshoot which was taken by Robert Atkinson as well as a few of the photos that were taken on the day. A photoshoot was constructed to take the photos that we would use for our ancillary tasks. We had to ensure that each of the four characters were wearing the same costumes as they were going to have on in our final video for continuity purposes. This would also allow our audience to associate their personalities with their costumes, forming bonds with them (uses & gratifications theory: personal relationships). As you can see in the video, I captured the images using my Canon EOS 10D digital SLR camera with the aid of a tripod and the timing setting when I was taking the group mid-shots. To make sure that the background was as white as possible I suggested that we stuck white sheets of paper to the board behind where I was positioning my group members to take their photos. This will make it easier to edit out the background using Affinity Photo, a photo editing software on my MacBook Pro. I took close-up shots for the front on the digipak as it is conventional for the pop genre as it highlights them as the artist (Dyer’s ‘Star’ Theory). I then captured mid-shots for the inside left of the digipak and the photo on the magazine advertisement. This will suggest that the group has cohesion, whilst revealing their separate attires which all appeal to the specific value of youthfulness (Goodwin’s common values).
