Final Cut - (7/2/16)
Above is my groups final video that we produced after making improvements to our draft. These alterations came about after gathering audience feedback from a focus group that we organised. The changes we made include:
-
Using a more neutral white typography instead of the previous negative black one which was unconventional for the pop genre.
-
We added a slow motion effect at 2:23 as the female flicks her hair to add an element of comedy as well as highlight our characters lust for her by prolonging her "beauty".
-
The audience also commented on the shaky camerawork at 2:36 so therefore to counter this we incorporated a fast forward technique to mask the hand-held camerawork in our final video. It also suggests that the situation is all a bit much for the female character, implying to the audience that she is uncomfortable.
-
We also included a jump cut from a long shot of the female character walking off with the unnamed male character, to a close-up of the female character winking towards the camera. This was because our audience feedback highlighted the fact that you couldn't previously see the females wink and consequently it didn't have the humorous effect we wanted.
The roles each of us had when creating our music video are listed below:
Camerawork - Myself & Rob Atkinson
Editing - Myself
Management of Mise-en-scene - Josh Calver & Mohsin Bhaiyat
